Catalog Raisonné

At this time we are gathering information for the Symcho Moszkowicz catalog raisonné. Fortunately, we are the beneficiaries of a uniquely qualified insider's dedication to archiving - the artist's sister Teresa Moszkowicz-Syrop. Thanks to decades of her tireless efforts, we have at our disposal a large amount of biographical material as well as a substantial inventory of the artist's works. Mrs. Syrop made numerous trips abroad to collect his works and letters and spent years corresponding with his friends and associates in order to preserve his legacy.

However, as diligent as her efforts were, there are gaps in the information which can only be filled by the various other owners of his works.

Certain paintings and drawings were sold by the artist without his galleries' participation. The full descriptions and whereabouts of these works are unknown. Also, a number of finished works and sketch books disappeared from the artist's Paris studio after his death and are still unaccounted for. In an effort to compile the best quality catalog that is humanly possible, we ask anyone who owns any of Moszkowicz's works to please contact us and share their information.

If you own a work by Moszkowicz, we would like to include it in the catalog. If you knew the artist or have information about any aspect or period of his life, espescially his years spent in forced labor, your knowledge could illuminate important areas of his personal history.
